Deutsche Bank reported nearly record profits in Q2 2026, driven by strong investment banking performance, exceeding analyst expectations. The bank achieved a pre-tax profit of €2.68 billion, slightly below the record set in 2007. Net profit rose 10% year-on-year to €1.64 billion, still shy of 2007 levels. The bank plans to spend an additional €500 million on a share buyback program in H2 2026. CEO Christian Sewing expressed confidence in meeting 2028 targets, aiming for a return on equity above 13%.
