Profilul victimelor preferate de escrocii online: Poliția Română a analizat peste 1.200 de cazuri de înșelăciune

A recent analysis by the Romanian Police reveals that online fraud victims are predominantly aged 66 to 75, with a significant number having only secondary education. The study examined over 1,200 cases of investment fraud, highlighting that both pensioners and employees are frequently targeted. Most victims are from urban areas, and the scams often involve promises of profitable investments in stocks and cryptocurrencies. The total financial losses from these frauds exceed 58 million lei, with additional losses in euros and dollars. The report emphasizes the importance of verifying investment offers and protecting personal information.
