Producătorul german de baterii VARTA intră din nou în insolvență

German battery manufacturer VARTA has filed for preliminary insolvency in self-administration, aiming to secure its operations and future. This follows a previous restructuring supported by Porsche. The company cites worsening market conditions, decreased demand, and unfavorable currency effects as reasons for its financial troubles. VARTA has around 3,260 employees and reported significant losses in 2024. The insolvency comes after a major restructuring that reduced debts significantly. Plans for a strategic investment in Romania have been suspended due to rising costs and lack of firm commitments from clients.
