Producătorii auto europeni sub presiunea importurilor din China - Economica.net

The European automotive industry faces a growing gap between demand recovery and declining production performance. New car registrations in the EU rose by 5.7% in the first half of 2026, yet production slightly decreased, and the trade surplus for cars fell by over a third due to rising imports, particularly from China. Romania experienced the largest production decline among European countries, with a 13.6% drop. While car sales in Europe increased, production did not keep pace, leading to a higher share of imports. The report highlights a significant decrease in exports to key markets, including the US and China. A preliminary trade agreement between the EU and China could potentially reduce imports of hybrid vehicles, addressing the trade deficit with China.
