The High Court of Cassation and Justice has ordered the preventive arrest of prosecutor Radu George Bucurica, overturning a previous decision by the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal. Bucurica is accused of entering a bar in Hunedoara armed with a pistol and causing a disturbance when approached by police. The Council of Magistracy has suspended him from duty amid ongoing investigations. The Supreme Court's decision is final and follows a prior rejection of the arrest request by the lower court, which criticized the prosecution's handling of the case. Bucurica's firearm permit had been revoked prior to the incident.
