Procurorii DIICOT cer arest la domiciliu pentru Alexandru Munteanu, vicepreședinte USR Dâmbovița, și Evghenii Poliakov în dosarul utilajului care urma să ajungă în Belarus
Prosecutors from DIICOT have requested house arrest for two suspects involved in a case concerning machinery intended for the arms industry, allegedly destined for Belarus. The suspects, Alexandru Munteanu and Evghenii Poliakov, are linked to a company that attempted to circumvent sanctions imposed after the Ukraine war. They allegedly devised a scheme to export dual-use machinery, including a CNC lathe, through intermediaries in India to evade restrictions. The machinery was produced in Romania and was seized by German customs before reaching its final destination. Both suspects have acknowledged their actions and expressed regret, citing financial pressures on their company. USR has stated that if the allegations are confirmed, Munteanu may face expulsion from the party.
