Prosecutors seized €500,000 and luxury watches from Tiberiu Alexandru Pîrvu, director of Uzina Mecanica Plopeni, who is accused of bribery. Pîrvu was detained along with other officials, including Liliana Sorescu and Mihai Rafiu, in connection with a corruption case involving contract approvals. The investigation reveals that Pîrvu allegedly received bribes totaling 25,900 lei for facilitating payments related to contracts with companies managed by another accused individual. Pîrvu has been leading UM Plopeni since 2023, after a decade at another state-owned company.
