Andrii Pasternak, head of the Unified Center for the Search and Release of Prisoners of War, revealed that Russian authorities have special facilities where Ukrainian prisoners are kept and given improved nutrition prior to exchanges. This practice is seen as a form of humiliation and torture, as many prisoners are inadequately fed during captivity. Pasternak highlighted the stark contrast in the physical condition of released Ukrainian prisoners compared to well-fed Russian soldiers returned by Ukraine.
