Prințul regent din Liechtenstein și-a folosit după 22 de ani dreptul de veto, pentru a bloca o lege importantă

Prince Alois of Liechtenstein exercised his veto against a law to legalize abortion, marking his first use of this power in 22 years. The parliament had voted to decriminalize abortions under certain conditions, but the regent believes this does not adequately protect unborn life. Despite the veto, he suggested that regulations could evolve through targeted measures to support women. The committee behind the legislation expressed disappointment over the veto, viewing it as undermining the will of the voters. In a previous referendum, a majority opposed abortion legalization.
