Primul tren regional PESA, lansat în serviciul călătorilor: Trenul a plecat din Bucureşti Nord şi urmează să ajungă la Braşov

On August 6, 2026, the first PESA regional train began commercial service on the Bucharest Nord-Brașov route. Additional PESA trains will be introduced on various routes in the following days. These modern electric trains are equipped with amenities for passenger comfort and are part of a project aimed at reducing carbon emissions in rail transport. The project is funded by the Modernization Fund and aims to enhance public transport efficiency while promoting sustainable travel alternatives. The total project cost is approximately 2.778 billion lei, with significant funding from the European Union.
