Primul hram al Sfântului Dumitru Stăniloae, la Sibiu. Mitropolitul Laurențiu: „Unul dintre cei mai mari teologi ai lumii”

The Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Sibiu celebrated its first feast day dedicated to Saint Dumitru Staniloae with a hierarchical service and veneration of his relics. The event, held on October 4, 2026, marked a year since his canonization and his designation as the chapel's patron. The service was led by Archbishop Laurențiu, alongside faculty members and students, who honored the saint's memory. Archbishop Laurențiu emphasized Staniloae's significant theological contributions and encouraged students to embody his teachings in their spiritual and pastoral lives. Staniloae, a prominent figure in Orthodoxy, was born in 1903 and had a profound impact on theological education in Romania, despite facing persecution during the communist regime. His legacy continues to inspire future generations of theologians.
