Primele vehicule blindate COBRA II fabricate integral în România au fost livrate Armatei

Turkish manufacturer Otokar has delivered the first 12 COBRA II armored vehicles to the Romanian Armed Forces, marking the start of local production. The vehicles were produced at the Automecanica factory in Mediaș, which is now a subsidiary of Otokar. This investment allows Romania to manufacture 4x4 armored vehicles to NATO standards. So far, around 300 of the 1,059 vehicles contracted have been delivered, with plans for 216 more this year. The Mediaș facility is set to produce over 780 vehicles in the next five years, expanding its workforce significantly.
