The Romanian Ministry of National Defense has received the first COBRA II armored vehicles, marking a significant step for the country's military and defense industry. A multi-year contract with Otokar for 1,059 tactical armored vehicles was signed in November 2024, valued at approximately 852 million euros. By May 2026, 276 COBRA II vehicles had been received, with production starting in 2026. The goal is to deliver 216 vehicles this year, including new configurations, contributing to NATO's defense investment objectives and enhancing Romania's defense capabilities.
