Primele vehicule blindate COBRA II fabricate în România au fost recepționate de MApN

The first COBRA II armored vehicles produced in Romania have been received by the Ministry of National Defense, marking a significant step for the Romanian Army's modernization and national defense industry development. This project aligns with NATO's 2025 summit goals for increased defense investments. It includes technology transfer, production capacity development, and job creation. A multi-year contract for 1,059 COBRA II vehicles was signed with Otokar, valued at approximately 4.263 billion lei. By May 14, 2026, 276 vehicles had been received, with production starting in 2026 and 216 vehicles scheduled for delivery this year.
