Primele „Tunete” sud-coreene au ajuns în România. Restul obuzierelor K9 vor fi produse în Dâmboviţa

The first South Korean K9 self-propelled howitzers have arrived in Romania, along with K10 vehicles for ammunition transport. This delivery is part of a nearly one billion dollar contract with Hanwha Aerospace. The contract includes 54 K9 howitzers and 36 K10 vehicles, with a significant portion to be produced in a new factory in Dâmbovița. The initial batch consists of 18 K9s and 12 K10s, which were delivered ahead of schedule for testing. Romania becomes the sixth NATO country to adopt the K9 system, which will replace older artillery systems. The Dâmbovița factory aims for 80% local production involvement and plans for future expansion into other defense equipment.
