The first electric trains from PESA for passenger transport will start operating on August 6, connecting Bucharest Nord and Constanța. The initial train will depart from Bucharest at 06:17 and return at 14:20. This marks the introduction of the first regional electric train, with plans for more to follow. The contract includes maintenance for 15 years and a total of 29 trains are expected by 2027. Delays in operation were due to maintenance facility issues, but the situation is nearly resolved.
