Primele obuziere K9 din Coreea de Sud au ajuns în România. Producția va începe și la fabrica din Dâmbovița

Romania has received its first K9 self-propelled howitzers from South Korea, part of a nearly $1 billion contract with Hanwha Aerospace. The delivery includes K9 howitzers, K10 ammunition supply vehicles, and K12 recovery vehicles. The contract, signed in July 2024, involves 54 K9 howitzers and 36 K10 vehicles, with some systems to be produced in Romania. The K9 howitzer features a 155 mm caliber gun and can quickly reposition after firing. Romania is the tenth country to acquire the K9 system and the sixth NATO member to do so. A factory in Dâmbovița will produce K9 and K10 vehicles, aiming for 80% local industry participation.
