Răzvan Leu, a businessman, claims he was defrauded of 1.1 million euros by Călin Georgescu, who promised a loan that never materialized. Leu attempted to recover the funds amicably for years without success. He filed a criminal complaint with DIICOT in January 2024, alleging organized crime and fraud. Leu had deposited the money as a guarantee for a 6 million euro credit line, which was delayed. He was assured by Georgescu that the funds would be returned after receiving financing for the 2024 presidential campaign, but this did not occur. Leu maintains that he trusted Georgescu and hopes for justice and recovery of his funds.
