Primele amfibii de asalt americane AAV-7 intră în înzestrarea Forţelor Navale Române - Economica.net

The Romanian Naval Forces will hold a ceremony on September 28 for the entry into service of the first nine AAV-7 amphibious assault vehicles. The acquisition of these vehicles from the USA began in 2024, with plans to equip the 307 Marine Infantry Regiment with a total of 65 AAV-7s by 2027. The AAV-7 is a tracked amphibious assault vehicle designed for effective maneuverability and interoperability with NATO forces. It enhances the firepower and operational capabilities of the Romanian Navy, allowing for better response in the Danube Delta and Black Sea regions. The vehicle can carry 21 fully equipped marines or five tons of cargo, and is armed with a heavy M2 machine gun and a MK-19 grenade launcher.
