The construction of the Petricani Passage, initially set to begin in March 2027, has been delayed by at least two years due to a legal challenge from the prefect of the Capital. Mayor Rareș Hopincă criticized the prefect's actions as politically motivated and exceeding legal authority. He emphasized that the local authority will continue to pursue the project in court while preparing alternative procurement procedures. Hopincă expressed frustration over the unnecessary delays caused by conflicts and the need for maturity in understanding local governance.
