In Smârdan, Tulcea, the mayor Vasile Mărculescu is under investigation after firing a gun during a dispute with two potential buyers from Hunedoara. He claims self-defense, stating the buyers were aggressive and threatened him. The incident escalated when one buyer allegedly attempted to hit him with a vehicle. Mărculescu fired warning shots, one into the air and another at the buyer's car. Police are investigating the legality of the gun use, while one buyer was hospitalized with injuries. This is not the first legal issue for Mărculescu, who previously faced a closed case in 2023.
