The Tribunal of Bistrița-Năsăud ruled that Traian Simionca, the mayor of Livezile, can return to his position while remaining under judicial control. This decision follows a challenge by the Prosecutor's Office against a previous ruling that lifted the judicial control. The Tribunal maintained the control measure but removed the requirement for electronic monitoring and the prohibition on exercising his mayoral duties. Simionca is facing charges of sexual assault related to sharing intimate images with an employee. He was suspended from his position in November 2025 after being detained and later placed under house arrest. The case also involves another employee from the municipality.
