Primarul Bucureștiului a dispus monitorizarea zonei Piaţa Sfânta Vineri şi intervenţii repetate după apariţia şobolanilor

The mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, announced measures to monitor and intervene in the area of Piaţa Sfânta Vineri after videos of rats surfaced online. He attributed the rat problem to unsanitary conditions and people feeding pigeons, which attracts rodents. The area is managed by Sector 3, where the Municipal Company Eco Igienizare has been active since May, applying rodenticides and addressing waste issues. Despite these efforts, the area remains unsanitary, with vandalism of treatment stations and ongoing littering. The municipality plans further actions, including vegetation management to deter rodent nesting.
