Public institutions in Romania can apply for funding to install photovoltaic panels and energy storage systems, with a total budget of 650 million euros. The programs, launching on September 11, 2026, will provide up to 10 million euros per beneficiary, covering 100% of eligible expenses. The first program allocates 500 million euros for institutions to generate their own energy, while the second offers 150 million euros for those already using renewable energy. Applications will be accepted until November 6, 2026, with project evaluations scheduled for November 9, 2026, to February 12, 2027. The funding comes from the Modernization Fund, aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and renewable energy production in EU member states.
