If approved, the monthly financial aid will vary: 1,000 lei for severe cases, 800 lei for moderate, and 400 lei for mild disabilities, starting January 1, 2027. The proposal also includes eligibility criteria for parents or legal guardians. Currently, 70-80% of Romanian municipalities do not provide direct financial support, prompting the need for this adjustment to ensure sustainability and focus on local residents in need.
