Primăria Capitalei modifică proiectul de reabilitare a malurilor Lacului Herăstrău. Mii de arbori vor fi salvați de la defrișare

The mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, announced a revision of the initial technical project for the consolidation of the Herăstrău Lake banks, abandoning a two-meter concrete path that would have required tree removal. This decision followed two months of seeking compromises between technical requirements and park preservation. A digital inventory conducted by the Romanian Association of Landscape Architects revealed that out of 1,844 trees, 1,036 do not require cutting or pruning. The study assessed the condition of the trees, categorizing most as low-risk, while a few were identified as high or extreme risk. The mayor emphasized the importance of maintaining the park's integrity.
