The Bucharest City Hall has launched a tender for the purchase of 100 new, eco-friendly trolleybuses, marking a significant investment in electric public transport. The project, partially funded by European funds, aims to enhance public transport capacity. The estimated contract value is approximately 492 million lei, with a deadline for offers set for October 5, 2026. The trolleybuses will feature modern amenities and a minimum range of 20 kilometers without external power. Additionally, the city plans to acquire 79 trams with a total value of nearly 1.7 billion lei, also funded by non-reimbursable grants, as part of its strategy to modernize public transport.
