Prima turbină pe gaz de la Mintia a fost pornită. Bolojan: „Mai multă energie în țară, mai puțină din import” • Newsweek România

The first gas turbine at the Mintia power plant has been successfully started, marking a significant milestone in Romania's energy modernization efforts. Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan emphasized that this project will decrease the country's reliance on expensive energy imports. The new facility, built on the site of an old coal power plant, is expected to deliver its first megawatts to the National Energy System soon. With a total installed capacity of around 1,700 MW upon completion, this investment of over 1.2 billion euros aims to enhance energy production domestically and improve energy security, especially during peak demand periods.
