Clotilde Armand, former mayor of Sector 1, clarified that she was not sentenced but found guilty with a one-year suspended sentence. She criticized the media for misreporting her situation, stating that the court's decision does not equate to a conviction. Armand plans to appeal the ruling, emphasizing that there are no legal restrictions on her public office eligibility. Her lawyer, Toni Neacșu, supported her claims, explaining that a suspended sentence does not imply a conviction. Former judge Cristi Danileț also confirmed that the ruling does not prevent Armand from holding public office unless conditions are violated during the probation period.
