Prima reacție a Comisiei Europene după cererea a două grupuri politice de sancționare a României în cazul Dominic Fritz

The European Commission will assess Romania's integrity law during the sixth payment request, which has not yet been submitted. The PPE and Renew Europe groups have urged the Commission to withhold €770 million in EU funds due to concerns over the rule of law. They argue that the law, which targets Timișoara's mayor, violates EU legislation and the Romanian Constitution. The Commission confirmed receipt of the letter and stated that discussions with Romanian authorities are ongoing to support the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility by the deadline of August 31, 2026.
