The embassy rejected the accusations and called the expulsion of a diplomat unfounded. It emphasized that no evidence was provided linking the drones to Russia and warned against escalating tensions. The Romanian authorities had summoned the Russian ambassador after three drones were shot down, believed to be of Russian origin.
