Prima locomotivă Alstom Traxx a intrat în serviciu la CFR Călători

The Romanian Railway Reform Authority announced the entry of the first of 16 Alstom Traxx electric locomotives into service, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing emissions. The locomotive will operate on the Bucharest Nord-Constanța route and is part of a larger project aimed at modernizing the railway fleet. The total project cost is approximately 441.8 million lei, funded by the Modernization Fund. The new locomotives are expected to save significant energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 25%. They will serve a network of nearly 4,000 kilometers across five major interregional routes.
