Prima inaugurare de autostradă din 2026: Se deschid cei 12,24 km dintre Zimbor și Poarta Sălajului

The A3 highway section between Zimbor and Poarta Sălajului opens today, marking a significant milestone despite delays. The project has faced numerous challenges since its contracts were signed in 2020, with completion initially expected by late 2023. Delays were attributed to the contractor UMB and various technical issues. However, the Turkish company Ozaltin is expected to finish necessary diversions ahead of schedule, allowing full traffic flow on the 42.3 kilometers between Poarta Sălajului and Nădășelu. This inauguration increases Romania's operational highway and express road total to 1,428.5 kilometers, with another opening anticipated at the end of August on the A7.
