The "Cooperativa Podișul Transilvaniei" plans to process 600 tons of sunflower seeds daily by 2028, overcoming past agricultural cooperative prejudices. The cooperative, consisting of 21 farmers, manages over 33,000 hectares across four counties. Funding includes 10 million euros from the EU and 17 million from a bank, with an additional 10 million for refining. The facility will utilize solar panels and biomass for energy. Emil Turdean emphasizes the importance of cooperation among farmers to compete effectively in the market, urging younger farmers to join such associations.
