Prezentatoare TV din Egipt, condamnată la moarte alături de alte 11 persoane într-un caz de trafic de droguri
Egyptian TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others received death sentences for drug trafficking. Khalifa, known for her show 'Mission Impossible', denied the charges. The court found them guilty of importing drug-making ingredients and possessing illegal firearms. Nine others were sentenced to life imprisonment, while seven were acquitted. Khalifa's lawyer plans to appeal the ruling, which was confirmed after obtaining a religious opinion from Egypt's grand mufti. Over 750 kilograms of narcotics were seized during the investigation, with 20 witnesses providing testimony. Amnesty International reported 492 death sentences in Egypt in 2025, highlighting concerns over the use of capital punishment for drug offenses.
