To alleviate market pressure, he proposed delaying methane emission regulations for hydrocarbon imports by a year. This move aims to support the energy sector amid rising fuel costs. French President Emmanuel Macron has also called for regulatory changes, particularly regarding methane emissions. However, environmental groups oppose the delay, arguing it undermines climate policy without affecting energy prices.
