Fuel prices have increased again shortly after a tax cut, with major companies raising diesel prices by 15 bani per liter. This follows a 20% reduction in excise duty. The price of diesel now stands at 10.2 lei per liter at several stations, while Lukoil offers it at a higher price of 10.35 lei. Romania's average diesel price has dropped to 1.91 euro per liter, ranking 12th in Europe. The excise tax will be reduced twice a month for the next three months, with adjustments based on market conditions. The Finance Minister emphasized the need for a flexible mechanism to respond to market changes.
