Preşedintele Siriei confirmă discuţii cu SUA pentru relansarea unui oleoduct irakian ca rută alternativă la strâmtoarea Ormuz
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa announced discussions with the U.S. on investment and energy agreements to revive an oil pipeline from Iraq to Mediterranean ports. This project aims to provide an alternative route to the Strait of Hormuz, enhancing oil exports through Syria's Baniyas terminal. Al-Sharaa highlighted plans to rehabilitate the Kirkuk-Baniyas pipeline, damaged during the 2003 Iraq invasion, and connect it to Tripoli in Lebanon. The initiative seeks to facilitate Iraqi oil exports amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Persian Gulf.
