Președintele Senatului susține limitarea mandatelor șefilor serviciilor secrete
The President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, suggested that the mandates of intelligence service leaders should be time-limited to enhance democracy. He emphasized the need for Parliament to discuss activity reports of these services, which have not been addressed for some time. In light of recent allegations against SPP director Lucian Pahonțu, Abrudean stated that accountability is essential and that any claims should be verified by the appropriate institutions. Pahonțu firmly denied any involvement in the violent repression of protests during the 1989 Revolution and the 1990 Mineriad.
