The President of the National Agency for Sport, Bogdan Matei, emphasized the importance of sports in strengthening ties between Romania and Moldova during the 2026 Tour of Romania launch in Chișinău. He highlighted that the event showcases the beauty of both countries and promotes international visibility. Matei expressed optimism about future collaborations in sports and the potential of sports to foster a better society. The 2026 edition of the Tour marks a historic first, starting outside Romania, with a route connecting Chișinău to Bucharest, featuring five stages over 800 kilometers. The first stage will take place entirely in Moldova.
