Hungary's Parliament has lifted the immunity of Prime Minister Peter Magyar and two former ministers, allowing prosecutors to proceed with separate criminal investigations. The decision, supported by 139 votes, follows a request from the General Prosecutor's Office. Magyar faces allegations related to an incident in 2024 involving the confiscation of a man's phone, while former ministers Balazs Hanko and Miklos Sesztak are implicated in corruption cases involving public fund misappropriation and bribery, respectively. This marks the first criminal investigations against high-ranking officials from Viktor Orban's government.
