Luca Niculescu appointed Gabriel-Ciprian Ene as the new Secretary General of the Government, effective November 2, 2026. Ene, a former PNL leader, is currently an assistant magistrate at the High Court and has a background in law and theology. He has previously held leadership roles in local political organizations and is married to PSD deputy Corina Gabriela Ene. The Secretary General oversees key institutions, including the National Strategy and Forecast Commission and several strategic energy companies.
