Emergency measures were taken to address low Danube water levels affecting cooling systems. Paks now produces about 2,000 MW, contributing significantly to Hungary's energy needs. In contrast, Romania faces a major energy production deficit due to the shutdown of its nuclear reactors, relying heavily on imports and alternative energy sources during the evening hours.
