Premierul Luca Niculescu, răspuns ferm despre Pilonul II de pensii: „Nimeni nu se atinge de Pilonul II. Va exista așa cum este”
Prime Minister Luca Niculescu firmly stated that the second pillar of private pensions will remain unchanged, emphasizing the importance of predictability for millions of Romanians' savings. His comments clarify previous statements made after the first government meeting, where he suggested that reforms were not currently on the agenda. The second pillar, which had assets of approximately 243.4 billion lei and over 8.5 million participants by August 2026, is crucial for individual savings and investment. Past attempts to nationalize or eliminate the second pillar have raised concerns, but the government reassures that it will not interfere with the system's current structure.
