Premierul desemnat, Siegfried Mureșan, apără Mercosur: "Este foarte bun pentru România". "Nu am văzut niciun fermier care să protesteze"

Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan defended the controversial Mercosur agreement, stating it benefits Romania despite criticism from farmers and the Social Democratic Party. He claimed no Romanian farmer has complained about the deal, which was signed in 2016 without proper consultation. Former Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu had previously warned that the agreement could harm local farmers without guarantees on food safety and environmental standards. European farmers also protested against the deal, fearing unfair competition from cheaper South American products.
