Premieră pe Autostrada Sibiu–Pitești. Tunelul cu peste 2.500 de senzori intră în teste înainte de deschidere

The lighting system on Section 4 of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway is completed and undergoing verification. Tests cover the entire 9.86 km stretch, including tunnels and junctions. The Curtea de Argeș tunnel, Romania's first bored highway tunnel, features over 2,500 sensors for safety monitoring. Intelligent cameras can detect hazards and trigger safety measures. The section, built by the Austrian company PORR, is valued at approximately 1.678 billion lei and is funded through the Transport Program 2021-2027. Opening depends on safety system tests, with a contractual deadline of February 2027, but early opening is possible. After opening, drivers will access 54 km of the 122 km highway, enhancing connectivity between Transylvania and southern Romania.
