Polish swimmer Bartłomiej Kubkowski made history by becoming the first person to swim continuously across the Baltic Sea from Sweden to Poland, completing the journey in 55 hours and covering nearly 160 kilometers. This achievement, which also served a charitable purpose, was marked by strict regulations that prohibited him from touching support boats or resting during the swim. Kubkowski's successful crossing was his fifth attempt, following a previous near-fatal experience. His effort raised nearly 600,000 zlotys for the Cancer Fighters organization, supporting children undergoing cancer treatment. Another swimmer, Karolina Szczepaniak, aims to become the first woman to complete the same route.
