Premieră medicală la Sibiu. Uterul unei femei de 28 de ani, salvat printr-o intervenție minim invazivă complexă

A 28-year-old patient with severe genital bleeding underwent a minimally invasive endovascular procedure at Sibiu County Emergency Clinical Hospital, successfully stopping the bleeding and preserving her uterus. The intervention was performed by interventional radiology teams from Sibiu and Cluj hospitals, following the identification of a hypervascularized endometrial mass suggestive of retained products of conception. Given the patient's age, doctors aimed to halt the bleeding while conserving the uterus, opting for selective arterial embolization. The procedure was conducted through blood vessels without traditional surgery, using small catheters to block abnormal blood flow. The intervention yielded excellent results, with immediate cessation of bleeding and intact uterine preservation, showcasing the benefits of interventional radiology in modern medicine.
