Premieră la Spitalul Județean Sibiu: medicii au tratat o tumoră hepatică canceroasă fără chirurgie deschisă
For the first time in Sibiu, a minimally invasive technique called DSM-TACE was performed at the County Emergency Clinical Hospital for a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma. This procedure, a type of transarterial chemoembolization, was conducted through a collaboration of radiologists, gastroenterologists, and oncologists. The patient, diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B and multiple tumors in the liver, underwent this innovative treatment without open surgery, utilizing 3D imaging technology for precise guidance. The successful intervention marks a significant advancement in interventional radiology and expands the range of minimally invasive oncological treatments available in the region.
