Premieră istorică: Centrala nucleară Kozlodui își reduce puterea
Bulgaria's Kozlodui nuclear power plant has reduced its output by 12% due to extreme drought affecting the Danube's water levels. This unprecedented decision marks the first time in 52 years that weather conditions have necessitated such a safety measure. The plant, which provides 35% of Bulgaria's energy, will decrease the output of unit 5 by 120 MW to ensure safe operation. Similar issues have impacted energy production in Hungary and Serbia, with Romania also facing challenges. A team at Kozlodui is implementing safety procedures to maintain reliable operations amid the low water levels.
